Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC) and other pilot organizations signed the MOU with the Federation of Thai Industries for the “Carbon Footprint for Organization” project. The project is aimed to strengthen the greenhouse gas (GHG) management of the national organization and to slow down the global warming in the long run. This year, 2 plants were selected to join the project, vermicelli plant in Nakhon Pathom and tapioca starch plant in Udon Thani. The project will help reduce the GHG emissions conforming with policy of Thai Wah and the government in reducing environmental impacts, tackling global warming, and moving towards sustainable development of the industry.
According to this cooperation, the Company could engage in driving and supporting the GHG emissions controls that come from every activity of the factories. Together with other organizations, TWPC will extend the results to calculate the carbon footprint of the industry’s organizations, leading to management method to reduce the emission efficiently. In addition, the company will be verified and will be able to set the long-term goals in reducing GHG emissions conforming with policy of Thai Wah and the government in protecting the environment, tackling global warming, and moving towards sustainable development of the industry.
Moreover, in 2021, the Company retains its strategy on the efficiency of ingredients procurement through sustainable supply chain management, using digital technology to drive the working process efficiency and using innovation to add value to products and services. The value-added products and services help increase profit margin such as bioplastic product which is produced from agricultural products and can be 100% biodegraded without harming the environment.
