Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC) was invited to be a representative of private sector in Action Track 4: Advance equitable livelihood in the “UN FOOD SYSTEMS SUMMIT 2021”, under the theme of “Role of private sector in supporting sustainable food system development” through online platform. The seminar was organized by UN Global Compact Network Thailand. Joining this seminar emphasizes Thai Wah as a sustainability leader in agriculture and food industry with the strategy “Creating Innovation and Sustainability from Farm to Shelf”. The event was held on July 20th, 2021.
Ms. Ratinan Wongwatcharanon, Head of Corporate Communication and Sustainability of Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC), the manufacturer and exporter of tapioca starch and market leader especially in vermicelli products and rice noodles, announced that Thai Wah’s key strategies for sustainability are “Creating Innovation and Sustainability from Farm to Shelf” under the 4 main pillars of business sustainability which take into account all stakeholders in the supply chain. The 4 Pillars: F1 - Farmer Development, F2: Green Factory / Zero Waste and Community, F3: Family, Work and Life Balance, and F4: Organic and Healthy Food R&D.
“Thai Wah would like to be a part in achieving the 17 SDGs targets in 2030 and develop food systems of sustainability, including provide healthy food with good nutrition, reduce the social and environmental impacts and support the well-being of people along the food value chain.
This year, UN FOOD SYSTEMS SUMMIT 2021 was organized by UN Global Compact Network Thailand. The summit convened the best organizations from both government and private sectors in Thailand who are either members of the network or general public with interest to see the importance of food system in driving sustainability. Moreover, the summit was opened for brainstorming about sustainable development of food system under the frame of UN Food Systems Summit 2021, to be ready in adjusting the business goals and taking actions to create change for a sustainable world together.
